The Windsport team worked alongside a number of catamaran class during the Dingy Show at Alexander Palace in March promoting the speed, fun and excitment of catamaran sailing. The Dart 18 is just one of the boats used at the Windsport "Cat Clinic" where you can go for a introductry blast, learn to sail or improve your performance training. Sailors from 11years old to 70 years + are regular catamaran sailors and you can be one of them.

Windsport Personal Catamaran coaching in full swing

The Windsport "Cat Clinic" personal catamaran coaching program is in full swing in the run up to the start of the season. Over the last few weeks sailors from abroad and the UK have been travelling to Windsport to sharpen their skills ready to do battle on the water.

The "Windsport" international coaching program operates all over the world but the sailors still choose to come to the Windsport coaching centre here in Cornwall to absorb the very personal coaching we can offer. Sailors from Hong Kong, Middle East, UK south coast are just a few on the list. Those who come from warmer climes have found the temperature bracing on occasions but that has not stopped them kitting up and getting out there.

Over the next few months the Windsport "Cat Clinic" coaching team will be visiting a number of clubs in the UK and venues abroad delivering a comprehensive range of coaching support.

Windsport & Falmouth Dinghy Week 2009.

The Windsport centre is immediately adjacent to Restronquet SC. and the regatta racing area a perfect location for visiting sailors and their families to enjoy the weeks sailing and action.

Boats - trailers- cars

For the sailors, Windsport offers a large grass boat parking area, with direct access to the launch beach and wash down hoses. Trailer parking and car parking are close by on the same location allowing the sailors and family to wander between the sailing club, parked boats, coastal footpath beach and Windsport action areas.

Pre - booked boat, trailer and car parking is recommended as space is limited at busy times of the year and a special Falmouth Dinghy Week package has been arranged. For more information contact Windsport.

Services and support.

The Windsport Dinghy & Catamaran on-site chandlery will be open daily to supply any technical parts that might need replacing during the week, blocks, cleats, lines, screws and ropes etc, while the Windsport repair workshop, will be on hand should more substantial support be required.

Camping and Mobile homes

Windsport's dedicated area for camping can host 14 pitches and there is limited parking for Mobile Homes. Camping pitches and MB home sites are limited, details of costs and facilities available from Windsport

Other activities

For those not involved in the regatta racing there is a great picnic area to watch the racing from, plus a range of watersports activities, sailing courses and equipment you can hire from Windsport and enjoy. Sailors , families , friends , planning to travel down for Falmouth Dinghy week in August, should try and book their boat, trailer and car parking at Windsport as early as possible.

This year promises to be a bumper event, with almost everything on site. The Windsport boat parking area is right beside the race course area, the Windsport dinghy and catamaran chandlery will be open along side the Windsport boat repair centre and all Windsport's on water activities. There will be loads of action for those not racing, boat for hire, tuition, landyachtng sessions etc , great picnic area to watch the racing from and just relax.

Winter action at Windsport

The days may be short but we cram a lot in! Lots has been happening over the winter with an increasing amount of personal catamaran training, bringing on sailors skills ready for the new season. Landyachting has been the other full on activity, what ever your age and even with no sailing skills you can get going in no time at all, you keep dry and it is Fun! Kevin in the picture had never sailed before he went landyachting but within an hour was in one of the fast yachts doing his stuff.

Our long association with Dart 18 catamaran has come a full circle so working with the original designers of the boat we will be supplying new boat and replacement parts for a very active and competitive sailing class world wide.

The performance boat repairs side of the business has seen a steady stream of work, especially if the owner forgot to tie the boat down during the last winter gale!

As for the spring we are gearing up the centre, with new equipment, additional boat parking areas and services so keep in touch with the Windsport team that will be out and about.

Next week is the start of Falmouth Dinghy Week, a great round of regatta sailing in Flmouth Harbour , for any sailor , any age, any ability, any boat!

Windsport is suppling a full on-shore support service of boat and trailer parking, car parking, dinghy and catamaran parts shop, workshop and repair centre.

The Falmouth Week program is geared towards families and friends with racing all over and dusted by 2.00pm each day so loads of time to do other things.

For those left on the beach Windsport will have a fleet of boats, canoes, mountain boards and activities you can get your teeth into, on the other hand you can just chill out!

Loads of Windsport Action over the weekend

Geat weather , great winds down at windsport over the weekend. The full range of beach cats were out on the water including the NEW Topper Topaz CX14 and 16 cats which pack agreat punch.

The instructor team had a "Get out of town" session on Friday with an evenings Hang-gliding with sister company Cornwall Hangliding Services. While Windsport supply the on water and landyachting activity for the "Get out of Town" weekends, the Hangliding and Paragliding is provided by the Cornwall Hangliding team.
